Who I Am

I am a Visual Designer, UX/UI Designer and Front-End Web Developer from Montpelier, Vermont. I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with a B.S. in Communication and a concentration in Graphic Design. However, my journey and experience with Web Design and Development began well before college, starting with a beginner course at my high school. Since then, design and development for the web, and occasionally even print, has been my main hobby and one true passion. I have been learning the capabilities and nuances of the Adobe Creative Suite software for over a decade. During this time, thanks to the help of many tutorials and long hours, I have also become quite proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a number of other web languages. I currently work as a Senior UX/UI Designer and Front End Developer for Zixi in Waltham, Massachusetts.

What I Do

I create unique, usable and professional websites and applications using best practice accessibility and the latest web standards. I work extensively with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery and a number of content management systems, including Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla!, and Silverstripe. I also have experience with application development, mobile app design, responsive web design, search engine optimization (SEO), and pretty much anything else web related. Along with my web design experience, I also have experience working with various forms of print media, such as: collateral (logos, stationery, brochures), publication (newspaper and magazine advertising, publication design) and outdoor (billboards, signage, posters).

Lead redesign of ZEN Master, a live video orchestration and telemetry control plane application, with a goal of improving application performance, usability, visual design and overall appearance. Primary front-end developer during migration of original AngularJS application to a more modern version of Angular. Responsible for planning, designing and developing new features using HTML, CSS3, SCSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Angular and Node JS. Create, iterate and collect internal and user feedback on UX/UI designs, low/high-fidelity wireframes, and interactive prototypes. Establish UX/UI best practices, design systems, pattern libraries and style guides to create a coherent visual experience. Work collaboratively within an Agile development environment with various stakeholders across product management, engineering, support, sales and marketing.
